St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy (PMA) was born from two great traditions of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles- co-ed Pius X High School (1953-1998) and St. Matthias High School for girls (1960-2013). The rich history of both institutions left a foundational impact on the evolution of who we are today and you can be assured that the values of Catholic education are the thread that unifies our past, present, and future.

Our mission focuses on providing a challenging Catholic college preparatory education in a supportive learning community that will positively affect the lives of teenagers, and provide opportunities for all students to grow in faith, learn without limits, and live with a purpose. We believe that a college education is a right rather than a privilege and that every student deserves a chance to pass through that gateway to success in life. Every day, our caring teachers enthusiastically promote each student as a significant member of the community, guiding them past any obstacles that could keep them from seizing academic, personal, and spiritual growth opportunities.

We have BIG plans for the future and we need your help to achieve them. Our biggest challenge is facing the reality of serving an increasing number of students who need financial assistance every year. Eighty percent of our students come from under-served families who cannot afford the total amount of tuition and meet federal poverty levels. We believe that education is the key to helping these students rise above the adversities they face and provide an environment that helps them in their journey of navigating through this adolescent stage of life that for some of our youth, can be the turning point in influencing their future.

Your participation in the "Building a Legacy" annual fund can help us to reach our goals of raising over $100,000 this year toward tuition scholarships and program sustainability. While leadership gifts of $1,000 or greater have the most dramatic and significant impact, all gifts are important, and 100% participation from all of our friends is a key factor to reaching our goals. We all reach a place in life where a focus on making a meaningful impact in the world becomes a motivating force.
